United Microelectronics Corp (UMC) is a Taiwanese company headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and is engaged in the semiconductor foundry business. Founded in 1980 as Taiwan's first semiconductor company, UMC provides a range of services including circuit design, mask tooling, wafer fabrication, and assembly and testing. The company manufactures integrated circuits such as complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) logic wafers, mixed signal wafers, radio frequency CMOS wafers, embedded memory products, high voltage integrated circuits, and CMOS image sensors. UMC serves fabless design companies and integrated device manufacturers globally, with operations in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the United States, and Europe. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: UMC) and the Taiwan Stock Exchange (2303.TW).
